City Spends $512,008 On Sidewalk Repair - In Election Year
In 2004 the Goleta City Council approved a sidewalk repair project1. This is a good thing MyGoleta.com found that was done by the Council. While the council deserves credit for this long overdue project, Goleta residents might ask themselves why did the council wait until an election year to do this project? Why not in 2003, or even better in 2002?
Another question that could be asked is why did they not spend $1,000,000 on sidewalk repair. Those in Goleta can attest that the City certainly needs more repairs. Remember that the $485,0002 in legal fees sent to Riverside to fight the Sandpiper project could have been used right here in Goleta to make sidewalks even better.
