Jack Hauxhurst seems to say citizens want 'processes and costs from local government'
The following is taken directly from page 3 of Hauxhurst's response dated July 13, 2004, to an SBCAG Staff Report. The SBCAG (Santa Barbara County Association of Governments) report seems to be referring to the absolutely rediculous and draconian1 rules the Goleta city council has been imposing on citizens since taking office.

"The processes and costs ....have become impediments to solutions." Developer speak. These are what citizens want from local government.

Jack gives not data or supporting evidence (normal for Jack). Tell me, do YOU want "processes and costs from local government"? I sure don't. While certainly some fees are necessary for a safe permitting, processes and costs are NOT what citizens are looking for. Why not ask those Goleta citizens who have spent $45,000 and $100,000 for processes and costs, and still don't have permits to remodel or build. See if they agree.

1Editors words, not used in the report. (however echoed by Council member Jean Blois, seemingly the ONLY council member not on a power trip, and is looking out for the good of Goleta citizens).
