Mayor Brock shows more value for butterflies than for citizens
In the fall of 2003 the Dos Pueblos (DP) cross-country team, was holding a meeting and a bake sale on Ellwood mesa. Witnesses indicate that Brock became hysterical when she found the DP team had a tent to sell their baked goods, and had put a tarp on the ground. According to witnesses, she railed the citizens and made them immediately abandon their bake sale. Further reports indicate she was demanding to see their permit to sell their baked goods.

Further witnesses indicate Brock was still hysterical when arriving at another meeting after she had run the DP activity off the mesa.

The DP team has never again been allowed to hold any functions at Ellwood mesa. And what about the butterflies? They're probably wondering - along with the ants - 'what happened to all those yummy crumbs from the bake sale?'

Why should you care? Hopefully the explanation is not required, but if it is, ask yourself this; Is a council member who cares more for butterflies, than for the citizens of the city she (is supposed) to serve fit for the job? Is this the kind of person that should have a say in controlling millions of dollars Goleta of taxpayer money?
